Heart Health Check

A heart health check is one of the best things you can do for your health if you're aged 45 or over. Find out more.

What is a Heart Health Check?

Heart Disease and stroke is the leading cause of death for both men and women in Australia. February is Heart Research Month, a month where all Australians are encouraged to prioritise heart health and stop cardiovascular disease.

At All Saints Family Practice, our GPs can help reduce your risk of a heart attack through a heart health assessment. A heart health check is recommended for all Australians aged 45 and over, and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients aged 30 and over.

What’s involved in a heart health check?

A heart health assessment is simple and straightforward. It will involve a review of your family medical history, weight, blood pressure, an ECG and some simple blood tests.

The results of this assessment are reviewed by your GP to indicate your risk of a heart attack. Your GP will then discuss with you a plan to reduce the risk of heart attack.

Bulk Billed Heart Health Check

At our Bulk Billing practice, a heart health check is fully bulk billed for all Medicare card holders.
